The Nevada Blue mine, in northwestern Nevada, was closed in the late 1980’s. Not very much information is known about its history except that at some point someone named “Witham” mined the area. Many people say that Nevada Blue turquoise closely resembles Blue Gem turquoise. The turquoise that came out of this mine is a very hard, clear blue. Some stones have a fine spider-web matrix.
